Top 5 heroines of Bollywood in 2015 so far!

After taking a look at the top 5 films of this year, its time to list down the 5 heroines who ruled at the box office in the first half of 2015. Well, till now the year has been good not just for the industry but also for our B-town beauties. It’s been a great year for women at the movies. Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, Anushka Sharma, Vidya Balan all got a chance to play some meaty roles. While some of them worked, some didn’t. In the first half of 2015, we also had a new entrant who charmed many with her acting chops and cute looks. I am talking about Yash Raj Films’ latest find Bhumi Pednekar who made her acting debut with Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Dum Laga Ke Haisha. So overall, so far 2015 has been good for the ladies but let’s check out who have grabbed the top 5 positions… Number 1: Kangana Ranaut
Film: Tanu Weds Manu Returns
Money made: Till Sunday Rs 149.39 crore and counting
Its no surprise that Kangana is at the top position. Her romantic comedy Tanu Weds Manu Returns which released in May literally stormed the box office. In fact, the film is still running in the theatres and its already been declared as a all time blockbuster. So its obvious that she had to grab no.1 position
Number 2: Anushka Sharma
Films: NH10, Bombay Velvet and Dil Dhadakne Do
Money made: Rs 32.39 crore, Rs 23.67 crore and Rs 76.38 crore ( and counting) respectively = Rs 132.44 crore
Though Ms Sharma’s big budget venture Bombay Velvet failed miserably at the box office, her other two films lived up to he expectations. With three releases so far, Anushka is at second spot.
Number 3: Shraddha Kapoor
Film: ABCD 2
Money made: Rs 91.32 crore and counting
Last year turned out to be amazing for Shraddha courtesy Ek Villain and Haider. And this year its her dance film ABCD 2 co-starring Varun Dhawan which has brought her in the limelight. With ABCD 2 still getting cash registers jingling, Ms Kapoor is 3rd on the list.
Number 4: Shruti Haasan
Film: Gabbar Is Back
Money made: Rs 87.52 crore
Now this one may surprise many but Gabbar Is Back starring Akshay Kumar and Ms Haasan ended up making good money. Akki and Shruti starrer is also in the top 5 films list so no guesses why this B-town beauty has found a place in this list, hai na?
Number 5: Deepika Padukone
Film: Piku
Money made: Rs 79.92 crore and counting
Shoojit Sircar’s directorial venture starring Dippy, Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan was expected to impress the masses and it did to a very large extent. Or how else do you explain those box office numbers? In some places, the film is still running the theatres. While we’ll have to wait and see how far Piku goes in the numbers game, for now, Ms Padukone stands at no. 5 position in the list.
